Skin Care Corner

To begin, I want to start by addressing the Medicare issue relating to what is commonly called the "Doc Fix".  The federal government was scheduled to cut Medicare payments to doctors by about 27% January 1st. Medicare currently pays about 50 cents on the dollar on the actual amount we bill them.  Cutting another 27% off of this amount would force many physicians to "opt out" of the Medicare program.  The "Doc Fix" keeps doctors getting paid at their current rate.

Fortunately, congress voted to extend the "Doc Fix" for three more months. If you are a senior citizen currently on Medicare or have a family member that this affects, you need to keep an eye out for any changes after March 31st.  We are hoping congress will come up with a more permanent solution to this issue and will conitnue to keep our patients informed on any new developments.

If there are any questions regarding these issues, feel free to give me a call. And as always, if there is anything you think we can be doing better, we would love to here from you.

God bless you, and have a safe and happy winter season!!!
