1. How does Lumenis One™ Work?
   Lumenis One delivers a special range of wavelengths of light in customizable pulses through a sapphire tip placed gently onto your skin. The light is absorbed either superficially by broken capillaries and dark pigment or deeper by larger vessels and collagen. Dilated capillaries coagulate, pigmented lesions darken and then peel off and new collagen fibers are laid down, giving the skin a renewed and more youthful appearance.
    
2. How is Photorejuvenation performed?
   A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated. The smooth glass surface of the IPL handpiece is gently applied to your skin and pulses of light are delivered. Most people feel a stinging, like the snapping of a hot rubber band, during parts of the treatment process. This sensation lasts only seconds and its intensity depends on the area being treated. An anesthetic cream may be used, but many find it unnecessary. Treatments are administered in a series of four to six sessions that provide excellent long-term results, minimal adverse effects and high satisfaction. Each treatment takes about twenty minutes.
    
3. Why are multiple treatments necessary?
   Depending on the number of conditions you are treating, and the severity of the individual problem, a series of four to six treatment sessions may be recommended. You can return to work the same day and resume all your regular activities. By dividing the full program into several treatments, the procedure provides gradual improvement with very low risk— and, it preserves the wonderful "no down time" feature that people appreciate so much.
    
4. How do other treatments compare with Photorejuvenation?

   2. Benign Vascular Lesions: Broken ("Spider") Veins and Capillaries

      The face has an excellent network of veins and tiny blood vessels called capillaries. Over time, aging, trauma, sun exposure and certain lifestyle factors cause a number of them to break causing the appearance of red streaks or blotches on the face. The same process can occur on other body surface areas but is generally most noticeable on the face followed by the neck. IPL therapy can eliminate damaged veins and capillaries by removing virtually all traces of these unsightly imperfections.
